No Jab no Job,
Did you know the COVID-19 Vaccine has been mandated for Aged Care and Disability Support Care workers/volunteers/students?
From 17 September 2021, residential aged care workers must be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
The number of COVID-19 Delta Variant cases have been spiking and more outbreak in the communities have added additional pressures to the Aged care, disability and health industries. Increased rates of community transmission has furthered the risk of exposure to residents in aged care facilities. Hence, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) recommended to National Cabinet that the residential aged care workforce be vaccinated against COVID-19, as a condition of working in a residential aged care facility, by 17 September 2021.
Following the recommendation, the Prime Minister and all state and territory first ministers agreed to mandate at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by mid-September 2021 for all residential aged care workers.
NSW Health has mandated all support care workers to have their first dose of vaccine by 30th of August 2021. Hence, all perspective care workers and volunteer must be vaccinated of at least a first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine before entering in to the industries.
Students will also be included if they are doing or will be doing aged care, disability or health courses that requires to complete their mandatory work placement in these industries.
