Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA) Pathway:
The OBA is a two-stage assessment process for internationally qualified nurses. The first stage is the NCLEX-RN, which tests theoretical nursing knowledge through a computer-based exam. Once you pass the NCLEX-RN, you can move to the second stage, the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination), which tests practical skills.
- Qualifications: Current registration as a nurse in your home country.
- AHPRA Assessment: Qualifications assessed by AHPRA as relevant but requiring the OBA pathway.
- English Proficiency: Meet AHPRA’s English language standards (e.g., IELTS, OET).
- Commitment: Motivation to study independently and prepare for a rigorous exam.
No prior Australian work experience is required, making this ideal for international nurses seeking to relocate.
- Be referred to the OBA pathway by AHPRA.
- Hold a recognised overseas nursing qualification.
- Pass the NCLEX-RN (Stage 1 of OBA).
- Pass the OSCE (Stage 2 of OBA).
- Meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS, OET, PTE, or TOEFL accepted).
- AHPRA Self-Check: Submit your qualifications via AHPRA’s online portal for assessment.
- OBA Pathway Approval: If directed to OBA, AHPRA will authorise you for the NCLEX-RN.
- Enrol in Our Course: Sign up to start preparing with us.
- Register with Pearson VUE: Pay the exam fee (AUD 504 approx.) and book your test date at a centre in Australia (e.g., Sydney, Melbourne) or overseas.
